Is this company really exist - The British National Lottery?
It is scam. Yahoo (insert any company name here, this answer works for all!) do not run an email lottery, if they did you could guarantee it would be advertised all over their home page. Check out these links and search answers to see how many people 'win' the exact same lottery every day
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lottery_sca...
http://www.hoax-slayer.com/email-lottery...
Do not click on any links, the page you will be taken to will look authentic but is not
Do not send them a 'courier fee' or any other money
Do not hand over any bank details or passwords
Do report spam
Do delete
Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You cannot win a lottery if you haven ot bought a ticket. Anyone can set up an email account with Yahoo, they can use any combination of letters they choose. I could be 'thequeenmother@yahoo.com' or 'disneyfreeticketsgenuine@yahoo.com' That doesn't mean that I am either of these and is fine as long as I don't try to use the address to mislead people. Don't be fooled by legitimate looking email addresses which end the same way as any other free account, don't be fooled by fictitious titles such as 'Dr' or 'Executive Director of Winner Claims'.
(I've answered this question so many times that I now keep this answer on my desktop and just copy and paste....that should give you a clue!)
Reply:I herd it's a scam and that was several years ago
Reply:Its a SCAM..
Think about it.. If you won a Lottery... Anywhere in the WORLD..... Don't you think they would fly you out there so, they can have you on TV and whatever else...
Think about it.. Here in the US.. If anyone wins anything even near a million.. Its all over the newspapers and TV...
There probley going to try and steal your identity or after you fill out Payment Processing.. There going to say please send us (about) $5,000 for the taxes and processing fees...
So, I wouldn't do anything but, just ignore them.. Or write back and say.. Send me the money and I'll send you the info back once I received it..
They will never answer you back.. and I would try and call you Internet provider and tell them about it...
Good luck with everything and let us know what happens...
Jay

they changed to the LOTTO, years ago.
delete %26amp; ignore any emails.
most scams like this end up funding terrorism.
Reply:Don't believe in any e-mail notification that you have won in a lottery. That's just a scam but the address is real. You might be in a forum and post your email.

Is UK NATIONAL LOTTERY a real company?
If you received it by EMAIL then it is a SCAM
Is UK NATIONAL LOTTERY a real company?
That and all others like it are SCAMS.
Doesn't it seem funny that they would send you an email saying you had won a lottery even though you hadn't entered the lottery?
How can you get something for nothing?
What they are doing is hoping some fool will respond to their emails and then the UK Lottery (or whoever they are) will ask for an amount of money up front to cover the costs of sending a check.
Then, when you get the check (if you do!), it's a bogus check. You can't cash it. You can't get your money back. You can't believe how stupid you were to fall for this scheme.
Remember: If something seems to good to be true, it probably is.
I would ignore every one of these scams including people from foreign countries asking for handouts or claiming to hold large sums of money that you can claim as a distant relative.
PHONY! PHONY! PHONY!
Reply:Look at the questions I have answered on this site in my info. There are so many winners there could not be enough money to pay them all. There is no International Lottery. This is a Nigeria scam. Yahoo/MSN, U.K. and Australian lotteries, football lotteries from the same counties, Global-Link, World Poverty, Microsoft, Free Lotto, which now seems to have it's own people answering gambling questions on this site claiming they have won which is a total lie, and hundreds more. I am a retired Police Officer that has years of experience investigating Internet scams and frauds. This is an old one. The common link to them getting your email is on line surveys. Yahoo does not give it's stock holders money away nor does it give it's email subscribers address's to lotteries. The only way to win in a lottery is to buy a ticket, if you didn't you could not possibly win. Here is the website of the 17 nation law enforcement task force that investigates cross border Internet crime. You may file a complaint there. www.econsumer.gov. Also go to www.ripoffreport.com and browse complaints and you will find many having the same doubts as yourself about these scams. Below is a typical scam and how they work it. They just go under a thousand different names. They are asking you to send a prepayment to collect your winnings and they want you to send it by a money wire service. Lotteries do not just pick your name out of thin air, and just so happen to have your email also. No Internet service provider gives their email list out to lotteries. If you did not pay to play you could not possibly win.

I suspect that you've received one of these "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE WON blah blah" emails. Ignore it, it's a scam.

In the 1920 Aug of national geographic which cig company made a ad saying there good for you?
Camel's my guess...
Reply:Don't know about that but in England in the 50's there used to be a brand called 'Craven A' which advertised as 'being good for Smoker's Cough'
In the United States, advertising of tobacco products on television and radio was banned starting on January 2, 1971, with the Virginia Slims brand being the last commercial shown. However, in the 1950s and 1960s, cigarette brands were frequently sponsors of television shows鈥攎ost notably shows like To Tell the Truth and What's My Line? One of the most famous television jingles of the era came from an advertisement for Winston cigarettes. The slogan "Winston tastes good like a cigarette should!" proved to be catchy, and is still quoted today.
Reply:but- us smokers here are not concerned with the 1920 issue of national geographic. "Lucky Strike" was around in 1920.

Does any company with the name " ABBEY NATIONAL PLC with add. Miltonkenynes, london is exists? bze I ve offer?
Abbey National is a British Bank (www.abbey.com)
www.ukvisas.gov.uk - visit here for information on work visas, you won't have any luck on a UK job application from outside the UK without one.
Best of luck.
Reply:I'm sorry but, if this is an example of your grasp of the English language, you haven't a chance of working for Abbey !
if you submitted an application with these examples of spelling %26amp; grammatical errors, your correspondence would go straight in the bin !
At Abbey - we pride ourselves on our colleagues ability to communicate clearly, effectively and concisely, with an excellent command of the English language. Sadly, the example above falls drastically short of what is expected !
Reply:Does the company not guide you in this? go to the British Embassy they will tell you the process. I'm assuming your american so here's the american site:

If your not American then let me know and I'll try to help you find the Embassy in your country
Reply:abbey national exists, however milton keynes is not in London.
beware there are lot of cons around like this, if they ask for money for a visa application, its a scam.

Help locking for company to sponsor Indian national graphic designer ...?
HE IS DEAR FRIEND ON 6 MONTH VISITORS VISA
PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOWS OF COMPANY THAT WILL SPONSOR HIM OR HOW WE FIND PLEASE MAIL ME.. PLEASE.. JEN
Help locking for company to sponsor Indian national graphic designer ...?
It is not easy to find an employer who will sponsor an immigrant, especially within the time period. What he needs to do is to show his portfolio and apply to as many companies as possible. Many will turn him down because he has no SSN and work permits. He can also try applying to Indian companies (or Indian-headed business) to see if they are more sympathetic to him.
Who knows, one of these companies will take an interest at him and would want to keep him -- and help him by sponsoring him and applying for work visa whether it is H1B or employment-based immigration that leads to green card. It is not an easy process, and it he needs a lot of luck.

Yahoo!'s CEO has apologized for the company's role in the incarceration of a Chinese national?
Should a representative of Yahoo! Answers apologize to you for anything?
Yahoo!'s CEO has apologized for the company's role in the incarceration of a Chinese national?
i'm seconding Texters answer.... i too need an apology

They made a flawed system that allows others to get hurt, that is something surely they should be working on correction of, not just appologizing for it but actually doing something about it or shutting the whole thing down. Are they responsible for the content on here, I say yes, do they do anything about it, I say more people of goodness are treated unfairly by the system than those who are on here to make trouble.
Everything I have seen has not been in any way to fix anything other than to create more of a problem that to me seems to be an endless book of views from everyone and everything. Are they responsible for what others do, I don't think so, are they responsible for who they target and how its used, I say yes. Is there an answer for this solution, the answer is that everyone on the system is part of the system and if one of us is doing something wrong then surely all of us have allowed it, including the creators of the system.
